What is it?
The COVID-19 Hospital Communication Passport has been developed by the Commonwealth Children and Youth Disability Network (CCYDN) to support efforts for a disability inclusive COVID-19 response to the health and medical needs of children, young people and adults with disabilities.
The hospital communication passport is a valuable tool in gathering vital information, ensuring an understanding of how to support persons with disabilities access, communication, sensory, physical and personal care needs whilst supporting their rights. safety and dignity.
On Wednesday 7th October, CCYDN is holding an event for organisations and advocates and Government representatives to learn more about the Hospital Communication Passport and discuss how it can be implemented in Pacific regions, including Australia.
The sessions will be delivered as an information workshop and discussion covering:
- The importance of the resource for people with disability during the COVID-19 pandemic
- How to use the resource and how it can improve healthcare access and support.
- how this resource can be part of hospitals and medical centres processes in their care and treatment protocol
Who can attend?
National Governments, Disabled Persons Organisations, Civil Society Organisations, COVID-19 response and recovery leads and young people with disability
The Pacific regional workshop and discussion will be held on Wednesday 7th October 2020 at 7pm AEDT, 4pm WST.
