In October, WWDA responded to the NDIS consultation paper on ‘An ordinary life at Home.’ In this submission, WWDA draws on our plethora of work in the human rights space, particularly WWDA’s recent response to the Disability Royal Commission (DRC) Group Homes Issues Paper.
In the paper, WWDA also covers themes about what WWDA members have said they need, including:
1. Our voices prioritised
2. The same housing options as everyone else
3. More information about housing options
4. Choice about where and with whom they live
5. Greater connections with their families and other informal supporters
6. Information from trusted sources
7. Accessible technology
8. Tightened reporting on abuse in group homes
9. Our diversity acknowledged and respected.
