In 2024, we’ve achieved significant milestones in our mission to advance the rights and well-being of women with disabilities. We’ve fought for access to essential supports, challenged discrimination, and fostered leadership opportunities for women with disabilities.

I’m particularly proud of our successful campaign to have menstrual products recognised as legitimate NDIS supports, ensuring greater dignity and equity for members of our community.

We are also proud to have released two groundbreaking new resources this year.  Our Neve website has provided critical information to support our community to be safe and to live full and pleasurable lives. Our Leadership and Mentoring Toolkit has equipped countless women with the skills and confidence to become leaders in their communities.

Through our powerful advocacy, we’ve played a key role in shaping critical Government reforms to better meet the needs of those we serve.

This year saw us actively engaged in the Government’s response to the Disability Royal Commission. We submitted comprehensive responses to the Royal Commission’s Final Report, advocating for strong action on critical issues like ending segregation, recognition of legal capacity, and protecting sexual and reproductive rights. We believe deeply in the importance of centring the voices of people with disabilities in all efforts to implement the Royal Commission’s recommendations.

None of this would have been possible without the unwavering dedication of our members and the collaborative spirit of our partners.

As we look ahead, I am hopeful about the opportunities to drive meaningful change and strengthen the impact of our work.

WWDA remains steadfast in our commitment to advocating for a world where all women, girls and gender-diverse people with disabilities can thrive.

With your continued support, we will continue to strengthen the voices of women, girls and gender-diverse people with disabilities and champion the rights of our community in 2025 and beyond.
