Women With Disabilities Australia (WWDA) extends our sincere thanks to Karin Swift as she concludes her time as President of WWDA’s Committee of Management.

Karin has been a member of WWDA since 1997 and a valued member of our Management Committee across many years. She first took on the role of President over a decade ago and was awarded a WWDA life membership in 2016.

Karin’s commitment, expertise and thoughtful leadership have been invaluable to WWDA’s advocacy, policy work and community projects, including WWDA LEAD and Neve. Throughout her time on WWDA’s Management Committee, she has consistently championed the rights of women, girls and gender-diverse people with disabilities to live valued, safe and self-determined lives across Australia.

Karin’s longstanding involvement on the Management Committee has significantly strengthened WWDA’s governance, credibility and influence at both national and international levels. Drawing on her years of experience in advocacy, policy reform and co-design she has overseen the organisation in shaping major reform, enhanced strategic oversight and governance capability, and elevated WWDA’s profile through both national and international representation.

We are grateful for Karin’s leadership, insight and dedication to advancing the rights of our community. On behalf of the WWDA community, we thank her for her contribution and look forward to Karin’s continued involvement as a valued member of WWDA, where we hope, she will continue to share her expertise and contribute to our work in new and meaningful ways.
