Our lived experience is valued in both individual and collective change, and cultivates approaches that support knowledge, accessibility, and care. This involves finding a supportive and understanding community, and exploring leadership goals and hopes for change.
  1. “Find your leadership identity”: We aim to empower and support participants to create their own brand of advocacy and leadership, addressing issues and decisions that matter to them.
  1. “Challenge and transform”: This means challenging the traditional views of leadership and transforming them to create space for women, girls and gender-diverse people with disability to have a voice. This involves debunking myths and misconceptions and having a key focus on resilience in the face of adversity.
  1. “Diversity in leadership”: This involves celebrating the lived experience of people with disability, identifying strengths and opportunities to have their voices heard and listened to, and having pride in your abilities and identity.
  1. “Lead by example”: We aim to support those with disabilities by uplifting their voices and creating spaces for everyone to join, feel included and be heard. This can involve sharing stories of resilience, and promoting leadership opportunities, as well as care for themselves, their circle, and their community. This care can be highlighted as celebrating one’s achievements, managing expectations, acknowledging and learning from mistakes, and support networks that are available for people with disability and intersectional identities.
