Women With Disabilities Australia and People with Disability Australia collaborated to develop a joint Call to Action for distribution at the 69th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69), calling for the inclusion of women with disability in all our diversity in global efforts to advance gender equality. This requires that global women’s rights movements amplify our voices, advocate for policy that supports our community, and ensure accessibility in feminist and women’s rights spaces. Our publication highlights two specific areas where further action is required to centre the specific needs and experiences of women with disability: sexual and reproductive rights and gender-based violence.

Our call to action asserts that disability rights are women’s rights, and that true liberation, equality and freedom from violence is only possible when all women, including women with disability, are included. It also makes recommendations for CSW69 delegates to promote the inclusion of women with disability in all our diversity.
