In 2024, Women With Disabilities Australia (WWDA) and Jean Hailes worked in partnership to release two new Easy Read fact sheets. The fact sheets were developed to empower women with disabilities to take charge of their health.
When you go to the doctor
The first fact sheet, “When you go to the doctor,” provides practical tips and guidance on how to prepare for doctors appointments, communicate effectively with healthcare providers, and advocate for individual needs. It addresses common concerns and questions that women with disabilities may have about accessing healthcare services.
