Staff members Margherita Dall’Occo-Vaccaro and Frances Quan Farrant attended the 15th session of the United Nations Conference of State parties (COSP) to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) in New York. Between the 14thand 16th of June, they were joined by other civil society delegates from People With Disabilities Australia (PWDA), First Peoples Disability Network (PFDN), Queensland Advocacy for Inclusion (QAI) and more. 

While at COSP, WWDA Supported Australian candidate to the Committee, Rosemary Keyess who was excitedly re-elected. They were able to interact with disability advocates worldwide while representing Australia. 

They also were able to bring back valuable information and ideas to apply to the Australian disability movement, which they are excited to implement!

WWDA COSP 2022 Side Event: Our Site Empowering Women and Girls with Disability through Co-Design

The WWDA team also hosted a virtual side event at the United Nations Conference of state parties (COSP) 2022 showcasing the Our Site project and how it was built in co-design with over 100 women and girls, feminine identifying and non-binary people with disabilities.
