We would like to acknowledge the outstanding representation of our Policy Officer, Clare Gibellini, at a series of events over the past few months.

Clare’s dedication to advocating for the rights of women and gender-diverse people with disabilities has taken her across the globe, amplifying our collective voice on international platforms.

Here is some of Clare’s recent advocacy work:

  • 17th Session of the Conference of States Parties (CoSP17): Earlier this year, Clare attended the CoSP17, representing WWDA and contributing to crucial discussions on disability rights at the global level. Find out more and download the report.
  • Asia Pacific Feminist Forum: Clare travelled to Thailand to participate in the Asia Pacific Feminist Forum, engaging with activists and advocates from across the region to advance gender equality and disability rights. Download the report [DOC].
  • National Emergency Management Agency Roundtable: Clare contributed her expertise to the National Emergency Management Agency’s Charitable, Not-for-Profit and Philanthropic Roundtable in Melbourne, ensuring that the needs of people with disabilities are prioritised in emergency preparedness and response. 
  • B+30 and CSW69: As a member of the official Australian Government delegation, Clare played a key role in advocating for the rights of women and girls with disabilities at the B+30 and CSW69 conferences.
