Support WWDA’s 2025 Federal Election Asks!
As we approach the 2025 Federal Election, Women With Disabilities Australia (WWDA) is calling for strong action to advance the rights, safety and wellbeing of women and girls with disability. WWDA’s election platform focuses on key areas that will create meaningful change and address systemic barriers.
We support WWDA in asking for:
- Funding for a disability-led gender-based violence working group.
- Reform of legal definitions of ‘domestic and family violence’ to ensure they are disability-inclusive.
- Gender-responsive foundational supports for people with chronic health conditions.
Together with WWDA, we urge policymakers and candidates to prioritise these critical reforms to build a safer, more inclusive future for women and girls with disabilities.

Subject: Join WWDA in advocating for inclusion and safety this election!
Dear [Name],
I hope this email finds you well.
Women With Disabilities Australia (WWDA) is the national representative voice advocating for the rights of women, girls and gender-diverse people with disabilities. Across Australia, women and girls with disabilities face disproportionately high rates of violence and discrimination and continue to face barriers in accessing essential supports and services.
As we approach the 2025 Federal Election, Women With Disabilities Australia (WWDA) is calling for strong action to advance the rights, safety and wellbeing of women and girls with disabilities. Their election platform focuses on key areas that will create meaningful change and address systemic barriers.
We support WWDA in advocating for:
- Funding for a disability-led gender-based violence working group to guide the implementation of the National Plan to End Violence Against Women and Children.
- Reform of legal definitions of ‘domestic and family violence’ to be disability-inclusive, aligning with the recommendations of the Disability Royal Commission.
- Gender-responsive foundational supports for people with chronic health conditions, so they can get the support they need.
Together with WWDA, we urge policymakers and candidates to prioritise these critical reforms to build a safer, more inclusive future for women and girls with disabilities.
