Women with Disabilities Australia (WWDA) is pleased to release our Performance Report for the period 1 July 2016 to 31 December 2017.
The report demonstrates the key purpose of WWDA: to promote and advance the rights and freedoms of all women and girls with disability. WWDA’s purpose is consistent with Australia’s obligations under Article 6 [Women with disabilities] of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) and also CRPD General Comment 3 [Women with Disabilities], published by the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in 2016. WWDA’s work is also consistent with a number of Australia’s national legislative and policy frameworks, including the National Disability Strategy 2010-2020; the National Plan to Reduce Violence Against Women and their Children 2010-2022; the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Act 2013; and the Australian Government Strategy to Boost Women’s Workforce Participation (‘Towards 2025).
