Safe leadership

Review

A mentor supports and guides another person by sharing their knowledge and resources, helping them to reach their goals. They focus on developing the mentee’s skills for the future, fostering a safe space to learn, and letting the mentee lead the process. Women and gender diverse people with disabilities are also mentors, offering mentees possibilities suited to their strengths, and providing opportunities to explore disability as an important part of their identity. Access to many varied role models is important because they show how having a disability and being a women or gender diverse person can be an asset, and a source of strength and creativity that should be recognised and celebrated.
