UN CSW67

The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW67) is a global yearly meeting where countries, organisations, and individuals around the world come together to discuss women’s empowerment.

In March 2023, two WWDA delegates attended the 67th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW67), and WWDA staff hosted three parallel events.

WWDA Youth Development Officer Margherita DallOcco – Vaccaro, along with disability advocate and WWDA member, Kelly Cox represented WWDA as delegates.

CSW67

The annual CSW conference brings together State Parties, non-governmental organisations (NGO’s), and other representatives to discuss gender equality. During the second week of CSW, State Parties negotiate the Agreed Conclusions. This year’s theme was “Innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls”.

In-Person Event – Using technology to Advance our Sexual and Reproductive Rights

WWDA held an in-person event in New York on Wednesday, March 8th, 2023.

Our International and Australian speakers spoke about how technology has played a role in the lives of women with disability, particularly their sexual and reproductive rights, and needs, from birth control to parenting.

On the 7th of March 2023, WWDA staff member Saphia Grant presented at CSW67!

The event showed how the WWDA LEAD team has worked in meaningful co-design to engage, build and allow online capacity exchange between our community members.
